KD Group, finančna družba, d.d., Ljubljana, Dunajska cesta 63, (hereinafter: ‘KD Group’ or ‘the company’) hereby informs the public, pursuant to Article 17 of Regulation (EU) No 596/2014/EU and in accordance with Article 136 of the Financial Instruments Market Act, hereby informs the public that Matjaž Gantar, Chairman of the Management Board of KD Group, has passed away following a long-term illness.
He took courageous, and at times even daring, steps, which were, however, always directed towards clear objectives. As far back as 24 years ago, he followed his vision and, together with the Cooperative System, founded the management company Kmečka družba d. d., which, under his leadership, developed into the KD Group, one of the largest financial groups in Slovenia. Together with like-minded individuals, he established Slovenia’s first mutual fund, KD Galileo, which remains one of the most successful funds on the Slovenian financial market to this day.
To provide financial support to exceptionally talented young people, he established the Ajda Foundation, now known as the AS Foundation. He was also a musician and a great lover of the arts. He conceived the AS Galerija art collection, which comprises over 1,000 works.
