The KD Group, which celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2009, is one of the largest business groups in Slovenia. The Group's principal activities are:

• banking and investment fund management,
• insurance,
• sales of fi nancial services,
• capital investments.

The principal business activity of the parent company KD Group d. d. is the management of listed and non-listed investments and the generation of fi nancial returns in accordance with the structure of its portfolio. The parent company makes decisions regarding all the KD Group’s major strategic investments.

Banking and investment fund management

On 2 March 2009, KD BPD was transformed into KD Banka. Thus the KD Group expanded its operations to banking. Initially, KD Banka will focus on private and personal banking and later expand its activities to commercial banking. It will continue to provide the services formerly offered by KD BPD, namely investment banking, including stockbroking, private wealth management and corporate fi nancial services. The banking division also comprises private wealth management and stockbroking in Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania.

The Group currently manages 31 funds and two investment companies as part of its investment fund management. KD Skladi is the leading asset management company in Slovenia, managing one investment company and KD Umbrella Fund comprising 17 mutual funds. In the region, the Group manages four mutual funds in Croatia, three mutual funds in Romania, two mutual funds and one investment company in Bulgaria, two mutual funds in Slovakia, two funds in Macedonia and one fund in Serbia.

Insurance

The KD Group's insurance business comprises life, property and health insurance. It has two companies in Slovenia: KD Življenje, a life insurer, and Adriatic Slovenica, a universal insurance company that markets life insurance and property insurance, including health insurance. Adriatic Slovenica was ranked second among insurers in Slovenia in 2008, while KD Življenje ranked second among life insurers. The Group is currently present with life insurance products in Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Croatia and Slovakia. It markets property insurance in Serbia through the property insurer AS neživotno osiguranje.

Sales of financial services

In 2007, the Group established the company KD Finančna točka, which combines all the fi nancial services offered within the KD Group. It is not merely a collective sales channel, but also represents a tangible upgrade in services for clients, with the entire range of fi nancial services available at a single point.

Capital investments

The Group’s capital investments are managed by the parent company KD Group d. d. and KD Kapital. Other principal business activities include real estate, publishing, the management of closed-end investment funds in South Eastern Europe and private equity fund management.
